Apple has launched several lines of its popular smartwatches at once – Apple Watch Series 8, the second generation of Apple Watch SE and the new rugged Apple Watch Ultra.
Apple Watch Series 8 with temperature sensor
The Apple Watch Series 8 smartwatch has not changed much in appearance, except that the borders have become a little smaller, and due to this, the screen has slightly increased. The protection against water and dust has not gone anywhere – everything that was in the Series 7 is also in Series 8.
But the novelty boasts a bright Always‑On display with a brightness of up to 1000 nits, which always shows information, even when your wrist is down.
Apple Watch Series 8 has received new functionality that allows you to monitor your health even more carefully. The main innovation is the introduction of an innovative body temperature sensor. The watch will monitor the performance even during sleep.
Particular attention was paid to women’s health in Series 8 – the gadget estimates the likelihood of ovulation, and in combination with heart rate and recorded cycle data, it is able to provide detailed information about the menstrual cycle.
Apple Watch Series 8 continues to successfully monitor the time and quality of sleep – it shows how many hours are spent in the phase of REM sleep, main sleep or deep sleep.
With Apple Watch Series 8, you can also take an ECG or measure your blood oxygen levels at any time.
Series 8 adds sensors to monitor potential traffic incidents. If you have an accident, the smartwatch will immediately find out about it and report the incident to authorized persons and an ambulance.
Thanks to a special power-saving mode, the Apple Watch Series 8 battery lasts for 36 hours of battery life.
Smartwatches are presented in variations with case sizes of 45 mm and 41 mm.
Apple Watch SE 2 is even more powerful
The second generation of Apple Watch SE received the design and dimensions from Series 4-6, and sensors from Series 8. The gadget is recommended for users who are just starting to get acquainted with the world of smartwatches.
Apple Watch SE 2 will not be inferior in performance to older versions due to the fact that the device now also works on the basis of the flagship S8 SiP chipset with a 64-bit dual-core processor.
The watch features a simple (non-Always-On) display with up to 1,000 nits of brightness and comes in two sizes: 40mm and 44mm.
Apple Watch SE 2 is 20% faster than the first version and has all the necessary sensors to track the wearer’s physical activity, sleep, possible falls and other problems.
Apple Watch SE 2 is not afraid of water – it can be submerged to a depth of 50 meters.
Apple Watch Ultra – For Real Athletes
The Apple Watch Ultra is a completely new watch model. They have a large, durable 49 mm titanium case with high corrosion resistance, and the screen is covered with sapphire crystal. The gadget meets military standards and is able to survive diving to a depth of 100 meters.
The Always‑On display reaches 2,000 nits of peak brightness, a performance that only the current iPhone 14 Pro can boast of. Obviously, now you can see all the information even in the blinding sun.
The Apple Watch Ultra has an additional programmable Action button. Wearing gloves or underwater, it is inconvenient to use the touch screen, and the button will allow you to control your workouts with simple clicks.
The watch also added a second speaker for louder sound, a siren that can be heard up to 180 meters away, and an array of three microphones. There is also a depth gauge in the Apple Watch Ultra, which measures the underwater depth up to 40 meters in real-time, and also displays the water temperature.
The operating temperature of the watch on the wrist is from -20°C to 55°C – with such a device, you can even go to the desert, even conquer the snowy mountain peaks.
The smartwatch is also equipped with a new high-precision dual-frequency GPS system, providing incredible positioning accuracy even in the most inaccessible places.
The standard functions for tracking health and physical activity have not gone away either – the Apple Watch Ultra has a temperature sensor, a sleep tracking function, an ECG, a blood oxygen sensor, and information in case of an accident.
And smartwatches allow you to make calls, send messages and listen to music.
Apple Watch Ultra is the most advanced watch that is stuffed to the eyeballs with sensors.
With Apple Watch Ultra, you no longer have to worry about running out of battery during your next hike. The smartwatch is equipped with a capacious battery that will provide up to 36 hours of operation with the normal use of the gadget, and up to 60 hours in low power mode.
The Watch Ultra comes with straps that have never been seen before in Apple’s smartwatch lineup. They are specially adapted for different sports.
