The Italian brand Ferrari presented the first crossover in its history, which will compete with Lamborghini Urus and Aston Martin DBX.
Ferrari Purosangue was presented in Italy. This was reported by the press service of the brand. It took Ferrari 75 years to launch its first production SUV, which will take on the most expensive versions of the Aston Martin DBX, Lamborghini Urus, Bentley Bentayga, and Rolls Royce Cullinan.
The basis of the novelty is the elongated platform of the Ferrari Roma coupe. Aluminum and carbon are widely used in the design of the crossover weighing 2,033 kg. The overall dimensions are 4973x2028x1589 mm for a three-meter wheelbase.
The design of the Ferrari Purosangue looks non-standard, for a crossover – a very long hood and swing doors, which do not have window frames. Leather and carbon are combined in the interior decoration. Control buttons for windshield wipers, turn signals, and headlights are located on the steering wheel. Of course, there is also a digital instrument panel and a 10.2-inch display for the passenger. But the trunk is not a crossover at all, although it is larger than that of any other Ferrari — 473 liters.
Under the hood is installed the most powerful turbocharged V12 engine with a volume of 6.5 liters, which was previously used in the supercar 812 Superfast. The unit develops 725 hp. and 715 N∙m.
With an 8-speed robotic gearbox with two clutches, it accelerates the crossover to hundreds in 3.3 seconds, the maximum speed is more than 310 km/h.
The first crossover of the Italian brand will go on sale in 2023 at a price of 390,000 euros. Approximately 2,500 units of this model will be produced each year.
