From 21:00 on Saturday, Ubisoft unveiled the games it has lined up for this year and next, as well as the future of the Assassin’s Creed brand. She celebrates 15 years this year.
First up was Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope, a turn-based adventure game for the Nintendo Switch. At the conference, the developers demonstrated in detail the combat system, which offers a wide variety for everyone. At the same time, a season pass was introduced, which will contain three DLCs and Rayman will appear in one of them. The game will be released on October 20 this year. Roughly two weeks later, the pirated MMO Skull & Bones finally arrives. Here was shown the modification of the ships, mainly their weapons and armour. You will also be able to attack foreign fortresses, the Helm location will serve as your base. In the game, it will be possible to turn off PvP damage, so the developers call it PvEvP. With cross-play support, it will be released on next-gen consoles and PC on November 8.
Already published titles were also given space. Riders Republic will get an expansion with BMX bikes, Division 2 will get two new seasons and other improvements, and Just Dance will get a new user interface. Trackmania will then be released on consoles.
But two new games will also arrive in the world of The Division. The Division Heartland will be a free-to-play multiplayer survival action set in the idyllic town of Silver Creek for PC and old and new consoles. The Division Resurgence will then head to mobile, as well as Rainbow Six Mobile. Both will bring the Tom Clancy-branded experience to Android and iOS. Of course, the greatest attention was focused on the Assassin’s Creed segment. First up was the instalment of Mirage, which will return to the roots of the series and will be released next year. Young Basim and I will look at Baghdad.
The Assassin’s Creed Infinity platform was also introduced, which will serve as the entry point for all future Assassin adventures. The first such title will be Assassin’s Creed Codename Red, in which we will look into feudal Japan dreamed by the player.
It will be an action RPG, but compared to Odyssey and Valhalla, the gameplay will be significantly redesigned. The world is supposed to be more realistic thanks to graphics and animations. According to the leaks, the protagonist should be a female assassin, however, as in the previous instalments, we will most likely get the opportunity to play as her male version as well. The game is being worked on by Ubisoft Québec, the developers of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, and will be supported long after release. Assassin’s Creed Codename Hexe is supposed to be completely different, which will arrive later than Red and should take place during the witch hunt in the 15th and 16th centuries in what is now Germany. It should be a completely different experience in terms of structure and gameplay, most likely with horror elements.
We still have to wait for gameplay samples and final titles. But that’s not all.
